Windows Phone 8 OS, the next iteration of the Microsoft’s mobile platform will bring a lot of new features to the existing one. Coming October, Microsoft is going to keep the spectators busy with several launches. Already, the Windows 8 – PC and tablet version of the OS is slotted to be released on October 26. Now, the alleged release date of the Windows Phone 8 is also being rumored all over the tech world.

According to a report by ZDNet, Windows Phone 8 is set to be launched on October 29, three days after the PC version’s debut. On 29th, Microsoft will be holding an event either in Los Angeles or San Francisco.

The ZDNet report also has some details on Windows 8. On October 25, the software giant will hold an event in New York City for Windows 8 and the Surface tablets, following which the device and the OS will be made available.

Windows Phone 8 Handsets

The hardware manufacturing partners of Microsoft are aggressively unveiling their Windows smartphones and tablets as the release dates are in close proximity. Especially, when it comes to the Windows Phone 8 smartphones, Samsung the South Korean tech giant has already come up with its offering at the IFA 2012 – ATIV S. Further, Nokia will unveil its second generation Lumia smartphones based on the upcoming OS on September 5. Other companies like HTC and Huawei are also reportedly working on new smartphones

Hence, more handset manufactures can be expected to unveil their products, which will run on Windows Phone 8. Moreover, all these smartphones will be released soon after the official debut of the OS.
